It is the mission of the Ridgewood Police Department to protect lives and property, preserve the peace and enhance the quality of life of those we serve within the Village of RidgewoodWe are committed to providing for all members of our community with the highest possible standards of police services.

To that end we have partnered with and/or maintain liaisons with the various community groups and organizations which represent and/or assist the members of our community.

The Ridgewood Police Department is a full-service police organization committed to the philosophy of community policing and citizen safety. We practice community-based policing and value our partnerships with our citizens, merchants and community organizations. We value and respect the concerns of and input from all members of our community.  Through Community Policing our department offers a wide variety of services to all members of the community. 

We offer informational and education services on the following areas of interest:

  • Child Safety
  • Neighborhood Watch
  • Reporting Suspicious Activity
  • Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)Training
