The Ridgewood Police Department Honor Guard was founded to serve as the ceremonial arm of the Ridgewood Police Department.
The mission of the Honor Guard is to represent the Ridgewood Police Department at funerals, parades, ceremonial functions, and other special events. The Honor Guard serves at the discretion of the Chief of Police and represents the Ridgewood Police Department and serve as ambassadors of the Village of Ridgewood at events on the local, state, and national level.
The Honor Guard renders honors to deceased department personnel, local officials and service members whenever possible. The Honor Guard endeavors to render honors and provide support to members of the Law Enforcement and public safety community killed in the line of duty, wherever the need may occur.
The Ridgewood Police Department Honor Guard and its members strive to represent the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
Honor Guard Commander: Ptl. John A. Ward
Ptl. Ward is a dedicated member of the Ridgewood Police Honor Guard and was appointed to the position of Honor Guard Commander in 2017. Ptl. Ward is the point of contact for the Ridgewood Police Honor Guard. If you require the services of the Guard, please inquire with Ptl. Ward for scheduling purposes.
The Honor Guard will do everything in it's power to honor requests for a guard at an event. All requests require the approval of the Chief of Police.
