    Day 1 - Orientation Day

    Welcome to the 6th Class of the Chief Michael Feeney Jr. Police Academy!


    The Junior Police Academy will be held at 

    Benjamin Franklin Middle School

    335 North Van Dien Avenue

    Ridgewood, NJ 07450 

     

    Reporting Time:

    08:30 a.m. 

    (please arrive early)

     

    Pickup Time:

    3:00 p.m.

    (please arrive on time)

     

    Feel free to legally park on N. Van Dien and watch as we "take charge" of our Class for 2019. The Class will (primarily) be in the BF Auditorium everyday, and will be using the Auditorium Doors (in the cutout of N. Van Dien Avenue).  This is where you should drop off/pick up your cadets everyday.

    Today is the first day of the J.P.A. and we're "hitting the ground running". Today we will be 'local', in and around Ben Franklin Middle School with exciting training evolutions such as Close Order Marching, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) presentation, Police Motorcycle Demonstration, and much more!

     

  • Tuesday - 6/25/2019

    Day 2 - "Field Trip Day" One

    "Believe that together we are better!!"

    Reporting Time:

    08:15 a.m.

    (please arrive early, as buses will depart at 8:30 sharp)

     

    Pickup Time:

    3:00 p.m. 

     

    Today is our first field trip.  We will be departing Ben Franklin Middle School at 8:30 a.m. sharp for our trip to the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute (the real Police Academy for Bergen County) for our day of training.

    This is one of our most exciting days as the cadets will have the opportunity to see what a real Police Academy looks like and get "hands-on" with some fun other public safety activities.

     

    Tips: 

    Arrive early on this day!  The buses have to leave at a certain time in order to stay on schedule.  We will not wait for cadet who are running late.

     

    If you're ordering lunch, please do so on Monday Night, as the Deli needs time to prepare your order and ship them up to Mahwah, NJ.

     

  • Wednesday - 6/26/2019

    Day 3 - "Field Trip Day" Two

     "Believe that together we are better!!"

    Reporting Time:

    08:15 a.m.

    (please arrive early, as buses will depart at 8:30 sharp)

     

    Pickup Time:

    3:00 p.m.

    (Traffic Dependant)

     

    Today is our second field trip date.  We will be departing Ben Franklin Middle School at 8:30 a.m. sharp for our trip to Newark Liberty Airport where we have a unique opportunity to get a first hand look at how law enforcement works in this environment.  From there, off to Metlife Stadium, where we'll see how the N.J. State Police and Security keep people safe during large scale events.the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute (the real Police Academy for Bergen County) for our day of training.

     

     

    Tips: 

    Arrive early on this day!  The buses have to leave at a certain time in order to stay on schedule.  We will not wait for cadet who are running late.

     

    If you're ordering lunch, please do so on Tuesday Night, as the Deli needs time to prepare your order and ship them out to E. Rutherford, NJ. 

     

    Please know that we do everything in our power to stay "on time" and "on schedule" but there are things that can be out of our control.  We plan to be back to the B.F. area by 3:30; however, that is traffic dependant.

     

  • Thursday - 6/27/2019

    Day 4 - "Training Day"

    Reporting Time: 08:30 a.m. 

    Pickup Time: 3:00 p.m. 

     

     

    Today we will be in, or around the Ben Frankling Area for our day.  The Instructors have a fun day planned for you, which may include the landing of a helicopter.  Arrive early on this day!  The buses have to leave at a certain time in order to stay on schedule.  We will not wait for cadet who are running late.

     

     

     

  • Friday - 6/28/2019

    Day 5 - "Graduation Day"

    Reporting Time:

    08:30 a.m.

    Graduation Ceremony, Followed by Pizza Party:

    3:00 p.m. 

     

    Today is the last day of our Academy, and you should be proud of your cadets and how well they performed during this past week.  Following a short ceremony and graduation presentation, we would love for you to join us for a Pizza/Ice Cream Party in the B.F. Cafeteria.

    Besides our ceremony and party, we will have a full day of fun training with the Cadets.
